PROJECT INFO

The Truman Brewery approached Another Kind Studio to work on the brand identity for Café 1001. The venue is one of their key locations within the Dray’s Walk complex. The site is a large double height industrial space just off Brick Lane which has recently been refurbished and needed a brand look and feel to compliment the updated interior and rejuvenated food, drinks and events offering.

PROCESS

The venue refurbishment took influences from relaxed mid century decor and design which they paired with the bold industrial features and surroundings. This mix of interior styles acted as starting point for our exploration into a rebrand and we created the above moodboard as an initial visual reference.

BRAND IDENTITY

We softened the sharp elements of a previous logo with the use of new typeface pairings that would give the brand a more rounded and approachable touch point. We developed this concept into a suite of lock ups that would continue to give the brand a vintage and audiophile element which was one of the key objectives of the brief. We found the playful and varied typographic hierarchy to be a natural fit for the venue’s mix of industrial and modernist aesthetics.

BRAND ASSETS
